A Happy Anniversary

Yesterday was our Anniversary. Lane and I began our day with a quick trip to the grocery store. Lane was happy to help, of course!
Clint surprised us by taking us out to lunch to celebrate. Lane blew us kisses in the car.

Clint and Lane at the restaurant. You can tell Lane was excited to be out for lunch.
Lane loved his fortune cookie!
After lunch, Lane was worn out. He slept the whole way home. When we got home from the game last night I realized that I didn't take a picture of me and Clint. Luckily, Clint is taking me out to celebrate some more tonight! Yipee!!

Too cool for Mom

Lane has made friends with one of Clint's coworkers Husband. Sunday night the team had an event at a local movie theater. Lane was invited to sit with him and loved playing with him.
Then, last night Perry invited Lane to sit with him.
Lane actually cried (alot!) when I tried to take him back. I seriously had to bribe Lane back with his snack!
Lane went back to sit with Perry again and got to play with Debbie too! He even got a walk around the ballpark with her out of the deal.
What a lucky guy!

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! We had a great day today, even thought Clint spent the day working. The team has a game tonight so we're looking forward a patriotic evening and a dollar hotdog!
Today I got Lane a water table to play with outside. My sister got him a super cute pool to play in for his birthday, but I thought the water table would be a good starting point.
I set it up in the front yard under a shade tree and Lane got busy!
The water table came with three animals.
Since Lane doesn't have three hands he used his mouth to hold the third toy. What a smart guy!He loved splashing. He kept trying to walk away with the animals to put them in the grass or the flower bed. Seriously, who can resist muddy toys?
I tried to get Murphy to help me keep him at the water table. She helped for a little bit, but I think she got sick of chasing him.

She decided to work on her tan instead. Can't say I blame her.

Who needs real toys?

Yesterday afternoon I had lunch upstairs in Lane's play area. Lane found my bowl on the floor when he woke up from his nap. He had more fun with that bowl!He pretended to eat out of it. He would put his hand in the bowl and then put it to his mouth. I caught him mid-way through the bowl to mouth process. He used it as a drum. He pretended to eat directly out of it. Good thing there wasn't anything in it, I would have had a mess to clean up!He even tried to serve Murphy her favorite toy "pink pig" in it.When he was done playing he put his new toy in his toybox. Little sneak!
