Gobble Gobble

Hey everyone, guess what, I'm back! I love coming to visit Grammy and Grampy! Everyone is so busy doing things that I'm able to sneak away and write on Mom's blog while no one's looking. By the way, don't I look cute in Grammy's glasses? I love wearing them!
I'm writing today about our Thanksgiving. We had a great day. I helped Grampy fry the turkey out in the garage. We wore matching outfits of course, I love to match my Grampy.
While the turkey fried and everything else baked me and Marlee got to, I mean had to, take pictures with everyone. Grammy and Grampy went first. Then we took one with Uncle Tom.
Then Auntie and Uncle T.
And finally with Mommy and Daddy. I gave the camera my best cheesy smile, I got better and better as we went.
Finally it was time for lunch. I went into the dining room to claim my seat about 10 minutes before everyone else sat down. I wanted to be sure no one tried to sit in my seat and I wanted to sit by all the best food.
Mommy and Grammy said that Marlee could have a turkey leg, they said it's a family tradition - Mommy had her first turkey leg when she was the same age as Marlee. And I got to have one my first Thanksgiving too, I was a couple months older than she is now. I think it's a little early, considering she's not even eating baby food yet, but I couldn't stop them. Marlee got a new bib for the occasion.
She was pretty excited about it.
She didn't eat any of her turkey leg, but she did a great job sucking on it.

When Marlee was finished with her turkey leg, I got to be the center of attention. I decided to show off my eating skills, I ate with both my fork and my spoon at the same time, one in each hand. My favorite food of the meal was definitely the turkey. And just so everyone knew what I was eating I would say Gobble Gobble between bites. I'm pretty sure I was hilarious.
When I was finished eating I led a super fun round of follow the leader. I had everyone doing exactly what I did!
Mom and Dad thought I was a little over the top, I know everyone else thought I was really funny. Before lunch was over Marlee was ready for a bottle. I helped of course.
When everyone was finished and the table was cleared everyone took a nap. Grampy and Marlee were the first to go to sleep.
Dad and I chilled in a recliner after naptime.
And right before bed Grammy introduced me to Clyde, me and Malree's elf. I'm going to be sure to be extra good so Santa will be good to me this year.

Basketball

Clint has transitioned from announcing HS Football to HS Basketball! He was asked by the Women's Coach to announce their games and accepted, then while he was announcing the first game the Men's Coach asked him to announce his games. So, Clint's now announcing for both teams and the gym has become our second home. The first game we sat and watched Clint from across the gym.
The next game we sat behind Clint and Lane got to go up to the front table to visit Clint a couple times during the game.
And tonight Lane sat up with Clint most of the game. He even latched onto Clint's extra microphone. Yes, I said extra microphone, my Husband is a geek!
Clint had to get up to adjust something between games tonight and Lane moved to sit in Clint's seat. He was so cute sitting in front of the mic clicking through Clint's ipod play list.

Laughter

The best thing just happened! It's been obvious to us that Marlee thinks Lane is the greatest thing ever for a while now. She watches his every move, she is happier when she is around him, and he can do anything to her and she doesn't fuss. This morning when Marlee was fussing Lane leaned into her bouncy seat to talk to her. She began laughing immediately! Luckily I had my camera right behind me and I was able to catch them on video!

I hope their laughter brightens your day like it did mine!

Towers

Lane spent the day playing with his wooden blocks building towers.
He is quite the little engineer.
Tonight while I got dinner ready Lane entertained his sister. She was fussing so Lane took his new sticker book, thanks G & G, over to let Marlee watch. She leaned forward in her bouncer to watch big brother and was happy as a clam.

2 1/2 Years...

It's hard to believe that our little Laner dude is 2 1/2 years old! He brings us so much joy! We could not be any more blessed. As much as I would prefer to keep him little forever I love seeing what new things each day brings. He is such an amazing boy.

Lane is lucky enough to share his half birthday with his Uncle T. Since the rest of my family was celebrating with Uncle T in Oklahoma we decided to celebrate Lane's half birthday with a strawberry ice cream cake at home. Lane was hilarious blowing out his candle!

Wurst Day

Saturday Clint got to MC a bike ride. He got to MC the ride a couple years ago and it was so much fun that we couldn't wait to do it again. It is a full day event, we had to be at the start point of the ride by 6:30 am.

Poor Clint had to set up all his equipment in the cold and dark. I offered to help, but it was so cold out that I didn't push it when he said he didn't need my help. The kiddos and I watched, with the heat on full blast, from the car.

As soon as the sun started to rise Lane was rearing to go. He got out of the car to hang out with Dad. I had so much fun watching him follow Clint all over the place. When people would stop Clint to talk Lane would hide behind Clint's legs. I have never seen him do that before, it was really funny to watch.

Once the riders left the starting line in Austin we had to drive down to the second start point to get that group of riders started.

Lane discovered the snacks at the second start point. He ate orange slices, peel and all, from the time we got there to to time we left.

We made it to the finish line in New Braunfels about 11 or so. Lane and Marlee loaded up in their stroller and got busy sucking their fingers!

Some Opas from Wurst Fest came over to make an appearance. We posed for a family picture, I have no idea why I stood like that - wierdo!

There was a live band that Lane had fun watching.

At one point I thought he might actually rest a little. He climbed up in a chair and said he was going to take a nap. It lasted all of a minute.
Marlee did take a few naps and I was thankful!
Lane discovered a huge mound of ice at the end of the day. He had the best time playing in it. I think he thought it was snow.

We were finally done with the day at 5 pm. We had the best time, but we were all exhausted! Lane fell asleep on the way home and slept until 11:30 am this morning.

Thanks for a great day Dad!

Thanks Grammy!

Lane and Marlee got a super fun package in the mail from Grammy this afternoon. Lane got a little towel to wrap around his waist after his showers.
Doesn't he look cool! He was showing me his muscle.
And sweet pea got this adorable little dress that Grammy made for her for Thanksgiving. We picked out the fabric and ribbon for a big bow while G & G were visint last month. Grammy did her part now I just have to do mine.

4 Months

Marlee turned 4 months on Saturday. I can't believe she's already been with us for 4 months! She is growing and learning so much! She has now rolled over from her back to her tummy and from her tummy to her back, she loves to "talk", and loves to stand on our laps. I think Marlee is going to be shy. I've noticed that she smiles at home like crazy, but when we are out and people talk to her she gets serious and just stares. We have such a sweet girl, we are so blessed.
At Marlee's 4 month appointment she
weighed 15 lbs 9 oz 90%tile
measured 25 in 75%tile
& her head measurement was 42 cm 75%tile
While we were at the Doctor's Lane got a flu shot. He went first, I told him to be brave to show Marlee how to do it. Bless his heart, he didn't make a peep! He thought about crying but didn't and showed Marlee how brave he was. He didn't cry, but you better believe I cried, he is such a sweet boy.
Marlee wore one of my favorite little outfits today. It was chilly here, so I kept her head covered. My little red riding hood!
Tonight I took Marlee's monthly pictures. Loving on her doll Samantha.
Checking Samantha out, I think she wants to eat her.Two frozen faces, this is usually the face Marlee gives strangers when they talk to her.
Check out the cheeks! Love them!

Happy Halloween

This entire week I have been "collecting" pictures of Lane and Marlee in their costumes. We began the week with a little photo session for my little gangster and flapper girl at home.I got a few cute pictures, but the session ended with two screaming children!
Then one evening, we went to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin and take some more pictures.
By the time we got to Halloween night we were ready to go!
We just went to a few of our neighbor's houses. I did the chauffeuring.
And Dad went with Lane from the stroller to the door. Lane had so much fun saying Trick or Treat.

When we got home Clint and the kiddos sat outside and gave out candy. Lane didn't want to let his pumpkin out of his sight. He unwrapped all four of the suckers he got. Clint took one for the team and ate three and let Lane have one.
Miss Marlee took a few pictures in my first Halloween costume, minus the clown hat.
She made a super cute vintage clown!
Then we all loaded up and went to dinner. Lane spilt his water in the restaurant so he lost his pants and suit jacket. He was happy to wear the rest of his costume out to the car! See, he wouldn't let go of that pumpkin!
Happy Halloween! We hope you had as much fun as we did! I did hide Lane's pumpkin out in the garage after he went to bed tonight. We'll see if he looks for it in the morning...
