I've been avoiding my blog the past week, due to an overwhelming amount of pictures form our time in Oklahoma. When Lane went to visit Grammy and
Grampy on his own, my only requirement was that they take lots of pictures. They didn't let me down!
Technically Day 1 was spent in the car, but i'm not going to count it because what should have been an 8 hour drive was a 13 hour plus drive! It rained pretty much the whole trip home and then a tornado hit right on the interstate which forced everyone to detour around the area which resulted in a three hour wait to go about 10-15 miles. Poor Grammy and Grampy and Lane! Thankfully, they made the long trip home safetly.
DAY 1

While Lane was in OK, he did what
Grampy did. Which meant getting up in the morning to read the newspaper.
Grampy and Popeye built a
swingset for Lane and Marlee. Grammy and
Grampy put the finishing touches on it with some help from
Laners.

Auntie showed Lane how to use the bar.

And Uncle Tom logged lots of pushing hours while he visited for a couple of days.

And of course Auntie gave Lane one of her famous
massages before bed.
DAY 2
The clan went to the Tulsa Zoo. I hear Lane had a great time checking out all the animals.

He got to ride the train at the zoo.

Pet the animals in the petting zoo.
Uncle T met up with everyone for dinner. Luckily he got the memo to wear a red shirt. I'm sure he was thrilled to match the boys...
It was Uncle Tom's birthday, Lane loves to celebrate Birthdays.

Day 3
Uncle Tom headed home. Lane got to spend the day out in the backyard relaxing with his favorite people - Grammy,
Grampy, Nina and Popeye.

And, he did a little yard work. I can't believe my parents put him to work!

In other exciting news, while Lane was at G & G's he started climbing out of his pack and play. My Mom said that she got up the second morning Lane was there, she took a shower and went out into the hallway to head to the kitchen. She ran into Uncle Tom in the hallway who told her he had seen Lane out in the hall a few minutes ago. My Mom didn't believe him, she went to check Lane's room - his bed was empty. She went back into her room and there was Lane snuggled in bed with
Grampy.
He spent the rest of his time there climbing out of bed in the mornings and after naps. My parents asked him to show them how he climbed out so they could be sure he was safe. They said Lane happily swung his leg over the top and lifted himself out of his bed. They said he was so proud of himself.
