3 Months

This little sweet pea is 3 months old today! She loves to sit up in big brother's red chair. She's getting so big! She's getting so much bigger than her dolly.
(She was just 5 days old here)
We love our Marlee Grace!
And this guy, he just won't quit! His new favorite thing to do is ride his trike up and down the sidewalk while I make dinner. I love to look out the window to see him riding by. He and Dad have the best time going up and down the street together!

Playing Catch Up

I've been avoiding my blog the past week, due to an overwhelming amount of pictures form our time in Oklahoma. When Lane went to visit Grammy and Grampy on his own, my only requirement was that they take lots of pictures. They didn't let me down!

Technically Day 1 was spent in the car, but i'm not going to count it because what should have been an 8 hour drive was a 13 hour plus drive! It rained pretty much the whole trip home and then a tornado hit right on the interstate which forced everyone to detour around the area which resulted in a three hour wait to go about 10-15 miles. Poor Grammy and Grampy and Lane! Thankfully, they made the long trip home safetly.

DAY 1
While Lane was in OK, he did what Grampy did. Which meant getting up in the morning to read the newspaper.
Grampy and Popeye built a swingset for Lane and Marlee. Grammy and Grampy put the finishing touches on it with some help from Laners.

Auntie showed Lane how to use the bar.

And Uncle Tom logged lots of pushing hours while he visited for a couple of days.

And of course Auntie gave Lane one of her famous massages before bed.

DAY 2
The clan went to the Tulsa Zoo. I hear Lane had a great time checking out all the animals.
He got to ride the train at the zoo.
Pet the animals in the petting zoo.
Uncle T met up with everyone for dinner. Luckily he got the memo to wear a red shirt. I'm sure he was thrilled to match the boys...
It was Uncle Tom's birthday, Lane loves to celebrate Birthdays.
Day 3
Uncle Tom headed home. Lane got to spend the day out in the backyard relaxing with his favorite people - Grammy, Grampy, Nina and Popeye.
And, he did a little yard work. I can't believe my parents put him to work!
In other exciting news, while Lane was at G & G's he started climbing out of his pack and play. My Mom said that she got up the second morning Lane was there, she took a shower and went out into the hallway to head to the kitchen. She ran into Uncle Tom in the hallway who told her he had seen Lane out in the hall a few minutes ago. My Mom didn't believe him, she went to check Lane's room - his bed was empty. She went back into her room and there was Lane snuggled in bed with Grampy.
He spent the rest of his time there climbing out of bed in the mornings and after naps. My parents asked him to show them how he climbed out so they could be sure he was safe. They said Lane happily swung his leg over the top and lifted himself out of his bed. They said he was so proud of himself.

Missin Brother

We are really missing Lane around here. We hear that he is having a great time, but we really miss our helper dude.
We miss our entertainer,
our baby toy tester,
my feeding assistant,
(not proud of this one) but he does help hold the pacifier from time to time,
Marlee's backseat buddy,
my bottle bag packer and carrier,
our soother,
Most importantly, we miss Lane's sweet hugs and kisses.

And Daddy's best buddy. We can't wait to see our #1 guy on Sunday!

Dr. Appt.

Today Marlee had her two month doctor appointment. Marlee Grace is really growing!
She weighs 13.10 ounces, the 95%
She is 23.25 inches long, the 75%
and her little head is in the 90%
In other news we said goodbye to Lane and Murphy this morning. They went to Grammy and Grampy's for a few days. We sure are going to miss them!
This afternoon, Clint announced a football game for the new High School across the street from our addition. Marlee and I walked over so she could enjoy her first game. We are already missing big brother Lane, but Malree is going to try to make the most of having us all to herself!

One Away

We cannot believe that tomorrow afternoon the Express will play their last game of the season! In some ways it seems like the season has flown and in others it has gone on f o r e v e r! It has been another great summer and I know that we'll be ready for baseball in the spring, but for now we are ready for a break!

Tonight we got to take some of our favorite people to the game with us, our neighbors & their daughter and her family who are visiting from Dallas. Lane loves JJ! He was so excited to have JJ at the game with us, he's been with us a few times this season and it's always a treat for Lane.

I think the boys had the best time of all of us. They kept each other entertained, and JJ kept Lane fed. JJ brought snacks and Lane made sure to taste test everything! The girls pretty much just hung out, sweet Bella sat on everyones laps and Marlee snoozed in her car seat most of the game.

After the game Lane, JJ, and Bella ran the bases. I had to post the video, because Lane loves to watch videos of himself running the bases on the blog. "Run the base" is his top requested video when we look at old posts! And, tonight was his first time Lane ran the bases all by himself. Dad went down on the field with him, but Lane ran alone - it is cute to see JJ in the video turning around to make sure Lane was still behind him.

2 Months

The past two months with Marlee Grace have FLOWN by! The other day Clint took Marlee on a quick afternoon errand while Lane and I went to the pool. When we got home it was so strange not to have Marlee home with us. We can't even remember our lives without her.Marlee is a super easy baby. She really only fusses when she is hungry or wet. She does fuss a little bit at night when it's time to go to bed, but who can blame the girl. I like to stay up late too! She loves to cuddle, especially after she eats. And she tolerates her brother "loving" on her and never fusses when he's around.
Marlee likes her pacifier. She is discovering that her fingers are pretty good too, I think Lane's been coaching her on that one. She eats 3 1/2 ounces 6 times a day. She generally sleeps from about 12 or 1 in the morning until about 7:30. I take the night shift and Dad takes the morning shift. Marlee still prefers to sleep in her special little bed, but we are working on learning to sleep flat. Her bed is in our room, or Bathroom - please don't think I'm a bad Mom, it's quite spacious in there. I love having her just a few steps away.
Marlee is starting to smile more and more. She is cooing and I've even gotten a few squeals from her. We love to have baby talk conversations back and forth. Girlfriend loves to talk!
And, just for fun, this is Lane when he was 2 months. He was a lot skinnier than she is but you can definitely see some similarities. Marlee goes to the Doctor in a couple of weeks, I cannot wait to see how much Marlee has grown!
