And She's Off!

Marlee turned 14 months today and decided it was time to get walking!

She's been taking a few steps here and there for a few weeks but nothing major. Last night she took several steps and tonight she really walked! We got a few little videos of Marlee walking to everyone. I love her sweet face, she was having so much fun! After we put the camera away she fell and said uh-oh. I wish we had gotten that on camera!

A Little Outdoor Fun

It was a hot one today! I think the temperature was 110, seriously. We went to church and ran to Sams but besides that we spent the day inside. I think all of us were a little stir crazy so we decided to let the kids play in the water table tonight. Lane and Marlee both started standing, but Marlee didn't like the grass on her feet so Dad put her in the water. She loved it so guess who wanted in too...
They were so cute - it was like a mini bathtub on legs, outside.
I filmed them playing for a minute. It's nothing very exciting, but I could sit and watch them play for hours.

Before we went in for baths Lane and Marlee each had a Popsicle. Tonight was Marlee's first time to eat hers all by herself.

I had to get the hose back out to rinse the sticky off Marlee before we went in. Lane learned how to spray Mommy with the hose. He got pretty good! Daddy and Marlee after all the fun!
Who knew 110 degree heat could be so much fun!

Scooter!

Lane got a little scooter for his Birthday in May. He has refused to wear a helmet so he's been riding it around the house to practice. Tonight he agreed to wear his helmet and he was off!
How adorable is he?

I got a little video of Lane in action. I love how he tried to hang on no matter what happened. He fell a couple of times and got right back up like nothing had happened. He was soooo excited to be out riding his scooter like a big boy!

I loved the side view! His little leg was working and working.

Before we went our neighbor was out watering her yard with the hose and the kids got to play in the water. Lane wasn't too sure about it at first, but Marlee was all over it. By the time we went in they both were soaked and had so much fun playing in the water.

The Circus

Clint took us to the Circus tonight! We didn't tell Lane we were going until he woke up from his nap. I don't think he really had any idea what a Circus was but he was excited! Before the Circus you can go down on the floor to meet the performers. We went down just in time to see Kelly Anne paint a picture.Isn't she pretty! Lane loved watching her and even waved goodbye to her as she left the ring. Before we left the floor to go up to our seats I tried to get a picture of Lane. I think I might pass out of he ever actually looks at the camera for a picture.Lane and Marlee both fussed during the show. Lane wanted every single thing people walked by selling during the show and I think Marlee was a little overwhelmed by everything that was going on. Happily, they did both settle down for a little bit. After the show Lane got a circus hat he was very excited about. My three favorite people!Even with all the fussing I would do it all again in a heartbeat. As we got Lane ready for bed when we got home tonight he told me he wants to go to the Circus tomorrow.

Dallas!

Thursday Clint took the family to Dallas. He was asked to do a chapel service for the Denver Bronco's before they played against the Cowboys that night. Poor little Lane wasn't feeling good so Clint dropped us off at the hotel and went on to do chapel. While we were at the hotel Lane and Marlee rested and then they both took a bath before we left for the game. Lane loved wearing the hotel robe around the room.It was Lane, Marlee, and Mommy's first Cowboys game and Clint's first game in the new stadium. Our seats were way too high for my taste, but luckily Clint wanted to walk around and check everything out. Thankfully we were able to go down and sit at a much more comfortable level for the majority of the game. Lane found a perfect place to sit for the pregame show. The kiddos with Daddy at the game. Lane was the most excited about sleeping in the hotel bed. When we walked into the room the first thing he said was "where's my hotel bed?" He loved it and I only got kicked in the face once! Marlee slept in a baby bed, but she did get some good snuggle time with us before she went to sleep and after she woke up. The room had a blackout screen so we all slept until 10:30 am!Marlee posed for a quick picture to document her first hotel stay.
Lane carried his pillow and EE out to the car. I had to stop to get a picture of how adorable he was swinging EE as we went.On our way home we happened upon a new In and Out Burger in McKinney. Lane and Marlee loved the hats! Lane wore his on the way home. And Marlee was so cute eating her lunch with her hat on.We had such a fun little trip!

Tonight at the game Lane's favorite girl, Jaycee who's almost 7, got Lane to go on the rock climbing wall with him. He's looked at it before, but never wanted to do it. Tonight he went for it and did great! He climbed up about a third of the way and froze. You can see him stop in the terrible video I took. I had Marlee in one arm and the camera in the other and you'll see how well that went.

I gave Lane a big squeeze and told him how proud I was of him when he was finished and the first thing he said was " I didn't ring the bell". Sweet boy, the bell is at the very top of the wall about 20 feet up. I assured him that he got really high for a 3 year old. I think they need a bell for little guys!
