Easter Package

Saturday afternoon Lane & Marlee got an Easter package from G & G. Lane loves to get packages in the mail!
I helped with the tape. The anticipation was killing them!Sweet Grammy wrapped everything in newspaper for me. Last year I found tiny strings of Easter grass all over my house for weeks.
Grammy and Grampy thought ahead and got Lane and Marlee each the same things. They love to have the same thing! Here's the video of the whole thing. Grammy I know you'll enjoy it!

Let the games begin!

IT'S GAME TIME!
This is Clint filling in for Stephanie. Therefore, you can expect typos, incomplete sentences and significant grammatical errors. Now that I have concluded my disclaimer - on with the blog.

Saturday night was boys night as I landed some tickets to catch an Austin Toros basketball game. Lane and I were joined by JJ and James, our neighbors across the street.

The boys were so excited for the game....or the chance to be without a little sister for a few hours.
"High Five, anyone....anyone"

So Lane is an affectionate little dude. JJ, who is six, was not as comfortable with the friendly display of affection. Luckily the Kiss Cam had already passed.
Nothing better than hangin with my boy.
We took a journey to the Club Level during half-time. The boys loved getting to see different areas of the building. More importantly, they were able to push the floor buttons in the elevator.
What's a game without cotton candy and sticky hands. Not sure which was worse, sticky hands and face or the extreme sugar high.
Ya, so our seats were on the second row..until..a friend invited us to join them front row baseline. The boys loved it, and the dads were pretty darn excited as well. During time outs, the boys stood up and danced near the court's edge.
The toro behind Lane, named da Bull, took a second for a photo op with Laners. They really put on a great show.
Boys livin it up on the court. I can't tell you how nervous I was with Lane holding a water bottle next to the court. We were one accident away from delaying the game. We survived, no spills.
These boys can dance.

Well, how did I do? Any typos? This blog is dedicated to Grammy Grace who is getting a new knee tomorrow. Maybe she will give me her old one, I'm overdo for an upgrade as well.

Grace, we'll be praying that you will not say anything embarrassing for you or your family while under the sleepy gas. Love you tons!

C.O.T.C.

Tonight for dinner we had shish-k-bobs. They were full of green veggies so we had corn as our side vegetable. Clint loves corn, and I think it's a vegetable that shouldn't be a vegetable so we don't have it often but I do make it for Clint from time to time. Tonight we grilled it on the cob and I cut the kernels off for Lane and Marlee. All through dinner Marlee kept pointing to Clint's ear of corn saying bite. Clint handed his corn over and Miss Marlee went to town!
Since Marlee had an ear of corn Lane wanted one too. I think it's the first time he's ever eaten corn off the cob, thank you Marlee. The no hands technique. And a video. Marlee loved eating her corn off the cob!

RR's New Park

Tonight we went to check out our new play for all abilities park. It was so much fun and so cool! There is a huge playscape, a minature town with working street lights and crosswalks, a big sand area, a musical play area, swings, all with really unique play ground equipment we had never played on before. We went thinking we would be there 30 mintues or so and stayed for nearly two hours. We left because it was dinner time and it was obvious the kids were worn out. I'm not going to narrorate the pictures I'll let them speak for ourselves. Beware, there are a ton!

Rodeo 2012

Friday night we made our annual trip to the rodeo. We dressed Marlee and Lane up in their boots and Lane wore his hat of course, and we were set. Our first stop was the petting zoo. Lane likes to see all the animals that are "his size". Marlee wasn't so sure about it.Lane gave the animals a pat and a kiss on the back. I'm not sure why he thought he needed to kiss them. Once I caught him giving kisses I strongly encouraged him to stop. I think he still gave a few more.Several goats went up behind Marlee and chewed on her shirt. She did not like it!
Across from the petting zoo were the ponies. Lane just had to have a pony ride. He doesn't look happy, but I promise he was! I think he was trying to look cool for the picture.
Marlee loved it also. Obviously. We tried to get a quick picture of the two of them together. Then, we went in search of Rodeo junk food for dinner.Rodeo food always seems like a good idea, but it's never what I hope it to be. Clint had an Indian taco with fry bread and the kids and I shared a corn dog and fried potato chips.Lane spotted a big tractor while we were eating that he "did some work on" while Marlee and I finished dinner.
We went into the arena for the rodeo and a Sara Evans concert. Lane and Daddy watched the bull riders while Marlee and I looked at the little shops.Once the concert started Marlee flirted with her Daddy.
We had a great night at the rodeo! Lane was sound asleep before we pulled out of the parking lot. Marlee stayed awake the whole ride home and played with Lane's hat, something he never would have allowed had he been awake.
I think Miss Marlee needs a cowboy hat of her very own.
