Swimmin Dude

Growing up, going to the pool with my Mom and sister was a daily ritual every summer. Lane and I have been hitting our neighborhood pool and love it! Our neighborhood has two pools. One is a 5 min walk and the other is a whopping 11 minute walk. Of course we like the pool that is further away the best, so we load up in the stroller with some water and a snack and get a little exercise.
Lane loves to float and watch. This is a totally relaxed face, it's hard being a busy boy!
Lane also loves watching the other people at the pool. The other day two girls were laying out, Lane waved and waved at them trying to get their attention.
I think he felt bad being such a flirt in front of his Mom. So he turned the charm on me.
After we float awhile I let Lane splash a little in the baby area of the pool. He doesn't get that if he falls, his face will go into the water. He always fights me holding his hand so the baby pool never lasts long.
So, we dry off.
And load up to go home.
We know, it's rough spending the summer at the pool, but someone has to do it!

Big Day at the Stadium

I am just now getting around to posting all of the pictures I took of Lane and Clint on Father's Day. The Express had a game so Clint spent his day at work, but Lane and I still got to spend some time with him.
There was catch on the field for Dad's and kids before the game. Clint and Lane played for a little while, but it was more like catch Lane than catch the ball.

For dinner we went up to the "club" (or the restaurant at the stadium). They don't have high chairs so Lane got to sit in a chair all by himself! He did great, I think he ate more than I did!
Lane and I were on our own during the game. He was so cute, I just had to take pictures.

Then, when the game was over Clint took Lane to run the bases. Lane walked from first to second and made it about halfway to third before he just couldn't go any further. Clint carried him the rest of the way and Lane got to put his feet down on home plate.
What a team!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Clint! We are so very lucky to have you!
Lane insisted on picking out your present. He kept his hand on the box all our way through the store. He was so proud to pick something out for his Dad.
We love you bunches!

Blogcation

I've been on a blogcation! My parents came to stay for a while two weeks ago, and I have so many pictures to share that I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'll do my best to catch you back up to speed on Lane's happenings while my P's were here...
I suppose the best place to start is with food. I love Sonic Happy hour! I usually stop in once or twice a week, but while my parents were here we went Every Day! Lane loves the red straw and a taste, or two or three of a cherry limeade.
Lane's happy plate!
Lane has gotten really good about holding his food while he eats. I hate to admit it, but this is Lane's version of fast food. A bag of veggies and pasta and he's set!

He even took his own lunch to the ballpark and passed up chicken strips and french fries for his veggies! What a good boy.
My Mom loves onions! Apparently, Lane does too. He especially liked them dipped in cheese sauce.
Lane did have his first real kids meal one day when we were out for lunch. He got mac and cheese and fruit. He ate and ate and ate. He loved it!
Lane also took lots of baths while Grammy and Grampy were here. He also got his first tooth brush - yes, I'm a bad Mom. I should have been brushing his teeth for months now.
One night it stormed. Lane and Grampy had a great time opening the back door to get a better look at the rain. They both loved it and got more than a little wet.
We took lots of little trips out each day. Lane loved having buddies with him in the backseat.
Lane had a great time being out and about! One day Lane got to help Grampy at Lowe's. My dad is notorious for taking a long time at Lowe's. Looks like Lane agrees.
And, of course we went to a few baseball games. Lane was getting into the game.
For some reason, Lane thought it was funny to give Grammy's head a good squeeze.
Lane and Grampy having fun with a little cow someone gave him one night.
It was really hot one night so Lane went topless. He rarely goes to sleep at games, but he cuddled up on Grammy and took a nice little nap.
Grampy and Lane got to run the bases after a game. Grampy carried him around the bases but let him down to tag third base, so cute.
Waiting for Dad, Lane and Grampy went up and down the stairs. And, yes, they do match! All the way down to their tennis shoes and ankle socks.
Most exciting, Lane got his first hair cut! He went from this shaggy mess to....
this. Isn't the difference amazing? Maybe not, but his haircut is super cute! Lane got his first sucker as a reward for being so good.
He was covered in slobber within a minute. So funny!

Oh Mr. Ice Cream Man

Last night we loaded Lane up in his stroller to go for a walk, but before we left the driveway we decided to stay home and let Lane play with his water table in the front yard. Much to my surprise and excitement a visitor drove by just as we began playing.
Clint ran out to stop him, or as it turns out her, and got the two of us an ice cream treat.
Lane tried my ice cream bar, but he wasn't interested in more than a couple bites.
He did get a very cute chocolate goatee! And went back to business at the water table.

Wet Weekend

We had a great weekend, as usual! Clint was off on Friday so we got to enjoy him a little longer than usual. Friday afternoon we took Lane to the pool for the first time. He was a little bit scared at first.
But after some kisses from Dad
And some waves to Mom
He relaxed.
Then, on Sunday afternoon we played in Lane's sandbox. Clint hosed him off with the hose before we went in and Lane loved it so much,
he had to sit and play
and play
and play.
In non-water related news. Saturday night Clint took me to downtown to dinner and to a show. As, I said Friday, it was a suprise, and I loved it! We had a great laughter filled evening out together!
