Fall Fest

Saturday morning we went to our Church's Fall Fest.
Lane got to pet some mini ponies.
And even sit on one for a picture!

We went on a hay ride.
Lane pointed out all the things he saw.
He was to little to play most of the games, but we did find some bells that he could ring. He loved it!
On our way out we got a little bit of cotton candy. Lane wanted nothing to do with it! When we would hold it up for him to eat he would hide his face in Clint's shoulder.
He finally gave in, but I don't think he liked it.

Duped!

Friday night Clint and I went out on the town.
And, Lane got to stay with a sitter! Since we've made the Change, when Lane is away from me we use a cup with a straw to avoid the whole sippy cup issue. Lane will use the hard top sippys only if I take the insert that keeps the cup from being spill-proof out. It seems like he can't suck hard enough to get milk out if the insert is in. Thus, with the insert out, if Lane walks around with his milk it ends up everywhere!
I forgot to tell the sitter that I took the insert out and Lane would need to sit until all of his milk was finished. Needless to say, Lane got up with his cup and the sitter realized his cup was missing the insert. She put one in and Lane drank all of his milk and wanted another cup of water!

To think, all this time he's been fooling me! That little trickster! I took this pic the next day after he finished his milk with the insert in! Can't you see the look of accomplishment in his little face?

Costume Sneak Peek

Lane's had his Halloween costume on a few times this week for some mini photo shoots. Getting him into his outfit is a process.

1. I tape his shirt to his diaper (to keep it from coming untucked)
2. Put on the wranglers
3. Fasten his belt with the huge longhorn buckle
4. Pull his vest over shirt
5. Tie on his chaps, in four places
6. Put on socks and boots
7. Add accessories, red bandana, sheriff's badge, handcuffs, and cowboy hat.

The finished product is well worth the work, but getting everything on is quite comical considering Lane doesn't want to hold still for more than a second. It's probably a lot like putting tights on a little girl!

I told myself I would only post a few pictures, I got a little carried away. These are some of my favorites!

Hodge Podge

Monday we stayed inside to avoid the rain. Lane had so much fun playing on the couch. I love his smile in this picture.Yesterday, we ran errands. When I finished buckling Lane into his car seat I turned around to shut the door and saw this persons poor leg hanging out of the back of the truck. I have to admit it made me jump. Good one Mr. Chevy truck driver. And, my favorite. Lane has become super chatty lately. He "talks" all the time. When I put him down for his nap yesterday he decided to talk instead of sleep. When I peeked in to see what he was doing he was laying on his back with his feet up on the rails of his crib looking at the ceiling and talking away. Cutie.

Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend!
Lane got dressed up to go to the fabric store with me Friday afternoon. Man, those ladies ate him up! I thought Lane was so cute we stopped to take some pictures at our front door before we went in.
Saturday we went to Waco for the Baylor homecoming.Lane got a pennant as we walked through the gate.
Unfortunately, the pennant was the highlight of the game. To say the game was rough would be an understatement.
In the end, we all had a great time. We took home a very sleepy boy!

The Change

It hasn't been easy, but we've made the change to hard top sippy cups! We changed cold turkey on Tuesday. Lane looks happy here, but it's a facade. Poor guy.

First Date

Laners and I went on our first date Monday night. Clint was out of town so we took advantage of our time alone. I thought there's no time like the present to teach Lane about taking girls on dates.

Lesson #1. Dress nice. Lane wore his cowboy boots, he knows I think they make him look cute.
Lesson #2: Don't cry when out on the town with your date. Your date will probably try to pretend you're not together!

Lesson #3: Don't grab food off your date's plate. I think we need to work on that some more. At least he practiced using his fork.
Lesson #4: Use your manners. Hmmm.... also need to work on that one.
Lesson #5: Get dessert. Lane's got that one down!
Lesson #6: Don't steal your dates dessert. Somehow, Lane convinced me to give my cone to him.
Lesson #7: Go somewhere fun after dinner. We went to Target. My amazing date got me some earrings. I think he did it to make up for his table manners. Works for me!
