Finger Painting Fun

It is so nice today that Lane and I couldn't resist being outside. I decided it was time to try finger painting. Lane doesn't like to get his hands dirty and I was afraid of a disaster so we've been putting it off.
Lane checking out the paper and the paints.
I got some paint on the paper for Lane to put his hands in and he wanted nothing to do with it. So I got out a paint brush and he loved spreading out the paint.
Making progress.
Trying out using the bottles to spread the paint.
"Mom, I need more paint."
Looking for missed spots.
Having fun messing around. Does this stuff smell?

The finished product. Isn't he cute covered in paint.

I think next time we'll try finger painting with ketchup. Maybe Lane won't mind getting his hands messy if they taste good afterwards.

# 5

Lane went for his 5th haircut tonight! Clint needed a haircut too so he thought it would be fun to go to a regular place so he and Lane could get their hair cut together. When it was time to get settled into the chair I sat Lane in the chair by himself, like we have in the past at kid places, but he wasn't having it. The super nice woman that cut Lane's hair said I could hold him during his cut so we gave it a whirl. Lane did great!I ended up with a little more hair in my mouth and down my shirt that I would have liked, but it was really fun to be so close to the action.
Luckily, Clint was ok with sitting by himself in his chair. I don't know what I would have done if I had to hold him too. Lane got his traditional post-haircut sucker. He refused to let me get a head on shot, to show off his new do.
My two handsome, freshly groomed boys!

Lucky Lane

Saturday night we went to some friends house for dinner. Lane played and played with Lawson and Paleigh until he discovered the slot machine. Once he saw it, playtime was over! He loved the slot machine's lights, loud music, and coins! He had lots of help learning what to push when. Too cute!

I just glad he's been introduced to gambling at such an early age. Just think how busy Casino's would be if they allowed kids to play the machines. With all the bright lights and music they'd be packed.
P.S. I'm totally kidding about Casino's and kids - we can barely afford to feed Lane, we definatley can't afford a gambling addiction.

Dinner Party

Lane had a dinner party of his very own tonight! This little table was a Christmas gift from Grammy & Grampy and Lane loves it! We usually keep it up in his playroom but tonight we brought it down to the kitchen so the kids could eat at their own table.
All three of them loved it! They all ate their pizza and had lots of great conversation or, maybe that was the parents. But they all did great. I couldn't get anyone to look at me for the pictures because they were all too busy eating. Camden and Emma both ate one piece of pizza apiece while Lane ate three!

Snow much fun!

This blah and rainy morning Lane and I are dreaming of the snow we got to play in while we were in Oklahoma for Christmas. That, and we heard through the grapevine that this little snowman is most likely going to be nothing but a puddle by the end of today. Clint built the snowman and Grampy and Lane went out to help decorate him.
The finished product. Lane kinda got in front of the little guy.
Lane had so much fun walking around in the white stuff.
And once he realized he could eat it, he really liked it!
Clint helped Lane make a snow angel while we were out playing. I think it looks just like Lane!

So Good

OMG! Clint made dinner tonight! He made cheese steak sandwiches and they were Delish! He made them for me once when we were dating, and that was the one and only time in 8 years he's cooked - ever!
Before Clint came in to cook, he put on his basketball shoes. He's playing for the first time in over five years in a Men's league Wednesday night. He said he needs to break his shoes in. Hmmm, I thought once you broke shoes in they were good to go. Apparently that is not the case, you need to break them in periodically. At least that's what my crazy husband thinks.
Lane was impressed with his Dad's skills.
The finished product. Seriously, I wish I could eat another one right now.
One happy customer. Lane was ready to give his toys another go after his yummy dinner, thanks to Dad.

The Monkey

I've been avoiding my blog lately. I have so much to post to catch up on Christmas that I haven't taken the time to sit down and download all the pictures. So, in the spirit of avoidance I'm skipping over my Christmas Catch-up post for now!Lane loves to climb on things. Today I caught him standing on the top of his new play table when I was talking on the phone. Not Good!
Lane loves to eat bananas. While we were at the Grandparents, both sets, Lane would beg for bananas on a daily basis. He usually got two bananas at a time from my parents and I wouldn't be surprised if he got the same from Clint parents. The boy can eat and like I said he LOVES bananas. And most importantly, his Grammy taught him what a monkey says and does.
I just hope he doesn't actually turn into a monkey!
