Clint and I got to go to NYC for the weekend! We were both super excited to be in NYC. Clint's been quite a few times, but this was my first trip to the big city. We have one rule when on vacation in a new place, sleep and relaxation are not allowed.
As soon as we put our things down at the hotel we headed to our first destination. Hoboken, NJ to see Buddy. You can see his place over my right shoulder.
The inside was so much smaller than I thought it would be.
I was ready to load up on sweets, but Clint reigned me in. I ended up with three things. A red velvet cupcake that was AMAZING, and cream puff, and a delicious cannoli, that they filled after I ordered it.
Clint got a piece of pie. Weirdo!
We took the ferry from Hoboken back to NYC. It was a great way to see the city.
And the statue of Liberty.
We were the only people on our ferry, so the ferry drivers invited us in to chat. All they wanted to talk about were the Dallas Cowboys.
We then went and walked and walked and walked, from the financial district up to Hells kitchen for dinner with a guy that used to work for me at Baylor. It was so fun to see Daniel and catch up over a delicious meal. After dinner we explored some more and went back to our hotel to enjoy this view.
Friday morning we planned to get up early to go see the GMA concert in the park, but we missed it. We stopped at a farmers market for some fruit for breakfast.
Rented bikes and rode all over Central Park.
Chowed down on NY pizza. Yes, all that food is for just the two of us, we pigged out!
We hit as many stores as I could drag Clint into. We did have a great time picking out a souvenir for Lane in FAO Swartz.

And the statue of Liberty.

We finally made it to Bryant Park. It was fun to see the park I see so often on GMA.
That night we went to a Mets game.
We went early for a tour of the control room and all that fun stuff. While we were in the control room I got to push the button that makes the home run apple raise. Luckily, someone hit a homerun during the game so I could take a pic.
We each enjoyed a hotdog during the game. Delish!
After the game we went to see the flat iron building and happened upon the Shake Shack. I've seen it the Food Network and was excited to try it out. We had the best burger I have ever eaten, seriously.
Our hotel was on Times Square. Times Square is a crazy place on Friday and Saturday night. We pushed our way through the crowd to see this guy paint this picture using only spray paint and putty knives. Pretty neat. Oh, and as we were walkedthe rest of the way to the hotel a man offered me some marijuana. How nice.
Saturday we reluctantly got out of bed, we were both sooooo tired. We headed down to Canal street (China town) and Little Italy. Bless Clint's heart. I stopped at way to many little booths on Canal street. I must admit I was suckered. I kept hoping I would find something really neat instead of the same thing I had seen at the previous booth.
As a reward for his patience, Clint got a reflexology foot massage. This poor woman was assessing the situation when Clint took his shoes off. After the massage Clint was rearing to go again. On our way to little Italy for lunch I was these adorable little turtles and thought of my little guy swimming.
We shared Chicken Parmigiana for lunch and then went for dessert at Ferrara's upon the recommendation of our friend Khalil.
I got an eclair and another cannoli. Buddy's got Ferrara's beat.
After a full day we went back to the hotel and got ready for the fireworks show.
We took the bus from the city to Jackson Township, NJ - to Six Flags Great Adventure. We went to see the fireworks show that the company Clint uses for our games puts on. It's a huge, award winning show set to music. This was part of the finale. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't begin to do it justice.

We headed home early Sunday morning. I can't wait to go back!
Fun week!
