Mr. Cool

Last night we went to Taco C for dinner, we sat outside and Clint wore his sunglasses. When Lane was finished with his dinner he tried out Clint's shades. One picture and pose were not enough!

Sickie Sickerson & Nurse Murphy

Lane has been a bit under the weather the past few days. I'm thinking it's allergies, poor guy. The other day he wanted nothing more than to cuddle with his Momma, a rarity. We spent as much time as possible on Mom and Dad's bed cuddling and sleeping. When Lane fell asleep I scurried around the house to get things done. When I came back to check on Lane I found his trusty nurse watching over him.

Lane's game face

We are officially 4 games into our baseball season! These first games have been a little rough for Lane, luckily my parents came to support Clint & have been here to help us get back into the swing of things. They leave tomorrow so we'll be on our own the rest of this homestand. Tomorrow night could be interesting...

These are a few pictures we got of Lane tonight during the game. He had a good time posing for the camera.

Daddy's Helper

We have an agreement in our house. I cook dinner, Clint cleans the dishes. Last night Lane was especially eager to help load the dishwasher, which just wasn't working out - you know with the knives and breakables so Clint let him "help" from above. Lane loved it!
Clint will hate this pic of him, but I had to post it. I love Lane's expression in this picture. And, did you notice Lane has Clint's hair in his fists? It's his new method of holding on, that or he's practicing to be a bull rider.

My little dude got a golf set when his Grandparents came to visit several weeks ago. Just like his Daddy, Lane loves golf. It is so fun to watch him actually hit golf balls with his little clubs. Countless hours of outdoor fun!

Guess who...

went potty in the potty for the first time tonight! You guessed it, Lane Everett!

For several weeks now he's been showing signs that he's figuring out what's going on with the whole diaper/ potty/ poo situation so we've been talking about the potty and have them in bathrooms for him to sit on when the mood strikes. We've been really close for a couple weeks now - we've had some almosts, not quites, and maybes, but he really did it tonight! He sat on his little potty while I got his bathwater ready and as he went he said uh-oh. When he was finished we had a big celebration to honor his accomplishment. You know, lots of clapping, cheering, and dancing.

Now we just need to keep it up! I love that Lane is growing up but I hate it at the same time. I can't believe my baby is turning into such a big boy!

A Self Portrait

Lane carried my camera out to the car for me the other day, he had the wrist strap around his arm so I thought I would let him hold onto it while we drove. I didn't expect him to figure out how to turn the camera on and take pictures. These are a few of the pictures he got of himself. I love that little profile.
My favorite! This is the serious, I'm checking this thing out face that I see everyday. I love that he took a picture of it for me!

Happy Easter!

The Musslewhite's had a wonderful Easter weekend. We live such a blessed life.
Saturday morning Lane got up and joined me in bed. He was just too cute leaning up against the pillows. We didn't get to stay there long because we had to get up and around to go to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt.
Lane and Dad were raring to go to the hunt. Unfortunately, we just missed the egg hunt for Lane's age bracket.
Which was ok, because Lane got to see the Easter bunny. This was Lane's first time to ever see him. He wasn't too sure what to think, so he stayed close to Dad and gave him knucks.
A little neighbor boy shared some of the eggs he found with Lane. Lane just stood and watched all the activities holding one of his eggs. I think he looks like he is pondering the whole egg hunting thing.
Clint had to leave the hunt early so Lane and I walked home. Lane let me carry his basket home, but once we got into the drive he wanted his eggs and candy! He doesn't usually, or ever, have candy so he had a good time eating his piece of chocolate. He didn't quite get that if you don't eat it fast it melts in your hand. He was one chocolaty mess when he was done with his candy.
This morning we all went to church and came home to have a delicious lunch! I was excited to host my first official holiday meal, with real holiday food. We invited some of our good friends who brought some amazing side dishes and chowed down!
I made Clint take a picture of my plate before I started eating. I'm not looking forward to going to the Doctor next week to see how much weight I've gained.
Lane enjoyed his meal too! He was such a happy boy throughout lunch. He just sat and jibber jabbered and ate, happy as he could be.
After lunch the kiddos got to hunt eggs. They were all so excited to finally be outside, that is the best picture I could get of the three of them. Camden and Emma filled their baskets and helped Lane find eggs. Without them, I don't know if he would have known what to do.
Checking out the insides of the egg he found.
Once Lane was finished hunting eggs he unwrapped chocolate after chocolate. I actually think he had more fun tearing the foil wrappers off the candy than actually eating it. I found myself eating several pieces of candy that Lane left me holding after he had the wrappers off, and you know chocolate melts fast if you don't eat it!
