Kids Fest

My Parents have wanted to take Lane and Marlee to Kid's Fest at Woolaroc forever, but because we lived 8 hours away the timing never worked out.  But, you can bet that this year Grammy and Grampy were all over going to Kid's Fest.  It was a super hot day, but we all had a ball!  We began our day at the Mountain Men camp.  A group of men really live there on the land and do demonstrations.  I saw one of the men letting kids shoot his shotgun.  I told Lane and he was ready to go!
Lane and Grampy waited in line and I thought Lane might change his mind the closer he got, but he didn't.  He was really excited to take his turn.
 Lane looks like a pro!
Marlee found a tree swing that she thought looked like fun.  She is one brave girl!
Lane tried pulling a cart while his Sister swung.
The kids were excited to get their faces painted.  Lane knew he wanted something orange.  I helped him decide on a horse after giving him several cowboy related options.
Marlee got a sweet pink flower.  The face painting lady let Grammy do it.
After face painting we went to paint a rock.  Marlee had to do it all by herself.  She got her rock completely covered in paint before we left.
Lane had Grammy and Grampy help him.  He picked his colors and went for it.  He was very proud of his finished product!  It's out on Grammy and Grampy's back porch all the time.
After the rock painting, the kids went for a train ride.  They thought they wanted to sit up high on the front car, but decided to sit a little further back with Grammy.
Marlee had a great time waving to everyone as the train went by.
Grammy and Lane stopped to catch a magic show.
We found a booth that let kids paint little ceramic things.  Lane spotted a boot and was inspired to paint it all green!  He say's green is his favorite color 98% of the time when asked.  He was meticulous!  He wanted to be sure every spot of that boot was painted green.  I think he would have worked on it for an hour if we had let him.
After the boot painting we went to find the line to ride the covered wagon.  We found a shady place to sit while we waited and Marlee decided to relax.
Lane got the best seat on the wagon.
Miss Marlee insisted on sitting on her own side of the wagon.  She really enjoyed her freedom on the ride.
We spent the whole afternoon at Woolaroc and stayed busy the entire time.  By the time we got back to the car and got the kids loaded into their seats they were asleep within minutes.
