Water Sprinkler Fun
Tonight while I painted a new glider for the baby's room Lane helped Dad plant a new Lantana bush I bought the other day. While they were watering the new bush Lane got a little carried away with the hose. Clint somehow got Lane to hold the hose over his head, he was soaking wet! Since Lane was already wet and having fun we got out the new sprinkler Grammy and Grampy got him. He wasn't too crazy about sprinklers last year, so I was excited to see that he loves his new one!
I think they have the exact same look on their faces. Clint's giving it to me and sweet Lane is giving it to his Dad. I sure love these guys!

a L-O-N-G walk
Last night Clint took us all for a little walk around Lake Pflugerville. He forgot to mention that the trail was 3 miles until we were on it. It was super windy last night so it made walking and even talking for that matter a little more difficult than usual, but aside from the wind we all had a great time.
Lane loves going for walks in his stroller. He would sit in it for hours as long as we keep walking. He helped hold Murphy's leash for part of the walk.
Lane got out of his stroller for the last little bit of the trail. He was soooo cute "running". I loved the way he pumped his little arms and shoulders. We couldn't get a good front shot of him running, but you get the idea from the video from the back.Unfortunately, my 2 year old got his first skinned knee and leg last night. He fell and got a little upset, but I had no idea he was scrapped up until I was loading him into his car seat. He is one tough little dude.

2 Year Well Check
Lane is 36.75 inches tall, the 95%.
Lane weighs 32.8 pounds, the 90-95%.
His head is 51.0 cm, the 99%. Makes sense, he needs a big head to go with his big body.
After we left the Doctor's office we ran some errands. While we were out, Lane held his first phone conversation with Grammy! He always loves to hold the phone and listen, smile, kiss the phone, anything but talk. Today he actually talked and responded to Grammy's questions with yes and no answers. I guess he figured since he's two now he needs to do more big boy things!

Happy Birthday Lane!
This is a huge post, because today was a HUGE day! My sweet Lane turned two and we had lots of celebrating to do!
This was the invitation to his party. We had his party at a nearby park that has a neat playground and an open air train that makes a several mile lap around the park.
Last year, I got a first birthday photo of Lane getting up on this birthday. I had to do the same again this year. I don't think he completely understands what a birthday is, but he sure did seem to understand that today is special! He never wakes up this excited.
Standing up and ready to start the day. Look at that happy face! He slept until a little after 10 am and we had to leave to get to the park by 10:30. He ate a quick breakfast with Grammy, Grampy, and Auntie and Uncle T before we took off.
I bought birthday balloons for Lane to have at the park. Grammy and Grampy went and got them inflated before we left and...
they were off into the sky before we walked ten steps! Luckily Lane didn't mind, and in reality they probably would have been a mess. It was so windy yesterday that it was hard to keep anything in it's proper place.
The kids got to play while all the adults visited and huddled to stay warm and block the wind. We all had lots of fun while Grampy and Uncle T grilled the burgers and hot dogs for lunch.
And then we played a bit more. Lane loved the slides. Every time he got to the bottom of a slide he would sign more and take off to go again.
Then, it was time for cake. We stuck with the train theme. Lane loved the candy on the train cars. Seriously, I think he almost went into a sugar coma the day Auntie and I made the cake he ate so much candy. Poor kid never gets candy so when he had the chance he ran with it!
Lane loved hearing everyone sing Happy Birthday. Then, he sat and watched his sparkler until it was completely burnt out.
To wrap up the party we all went on the train ride around the park.
Lane and and a couple of his buddies with their train whistles after the train ride. I got Lane a conductors hat for the party and train ride and of course forgot it in the car, so we had to take pictures with it on before we left.
Before Clint had to go work to prep for the game tonight, the family all came back to our house to watch Lane open presents. He loved tearing the wrapping paper and wanted to stop and play with every single thing he opened.

His Great Grandma sent him a little old fashioned toy truck.
Grampy insisted that he needed a train set and Grammy went along with him. Grammy said "he's young for it now, and Grampy said "when he's 50 it will be an antique." Way to think ahead Grampy!
Lane got an electric drill that he thinks is the coolest thing ever. I think he played with it so much he ran the batteries down within the first 30 minutes.
He did a little "work" on all of his new toys.
Nina Ruth and PaPa Bob (or Popeye) as Lane calls him got him a cute little dump truck that talks and shakes. Lane did a little work on it.

as soon as we finished my ice cream he left me for his T-T. She still had some of her cone left and he was not going to miss out.

T-T's here!
My sister is here for the whole week! We picked her up from the airport yesterday afternoon and had a great day! We shopped at the outlets in San Marcos and went to eat dinner in San Antonio.
When we got to San Antonio we planned to do some shopping at the Market, but we got there a little too late. Most of the shops were closed for the day.
