New Faves

Just a couple of pictures we took this afternoon. I can't believe how grow up Lane is looking, minus the fingers in his mouth.

He sure does love his baby sister.

A Day in Dad's Shoes

Laners spent most of the day yesterday and today walking around the house in Dad's shoes. He had the best time clomping all over the house. His favorite thing to do was to pretend he was going to work. I would tell him "goodbye, have a good day at work", he would go to the laundry room to go to the garage and tell me he needed the keys to drive to work. So cute.

Don't worry I didn't give him the keys, I didn't think his employer would appreciate him showing up to work without pants.

Rainy Afternoon Fun

This afternoon we had a sudden thunderstorm pop up. I stripped Lane down as quickly as possible so he could go out and play in the rain. It was his first time playing in the rain, he had a great time!
He was too busy to stop and pose for a picture so I had to settle for action shots.
Once I got Lane dried off and down for his nap it was Marlee's turn for a photo shoot. She turned 6 weeks today! We took two sets of pictures, a frilly girly set and a simple baby set.
This was the "I'm bored with this Mom" look.
I love this pic of Marlee and her doll.
After a big photo shoot what else is a girl to do but take a nap.

Marlee's 1st Trip

This past weekend the we made a big trip to Oklahoma! Marlee was super. We all stopped for a quick lunch on the way down and that was our only stop on our six hour drive! Lane actually cried more than Marlee did, poor guy didn't sleep the entire trip.

We rested up after our drive Thursday night and began our weekend of fun Friday morning. We took Lane to a Splash Pad to play with Miss Rylee. Nina and Popeye got to hang out with Marlee while Rylee and Lane played.

He ran all over with Rylee for an entire hour.
They had a great time playing!
After all their fun, Rylee got to hold Marlee. Rylee is getting a little brother this Fall, she is going to be a great big sister.
Friday night my Mom had a little party for Marlee at my Sister's house in Tulsa. Some of my parents friends in Tulsa came to meet Marlee. Lane spent most of his time during the party playing out in the backyard with his Uncle T.
Uncle T let Lane drive all over the place. He was so excited and proud of himself.
Saturday morning Nina and Popeye came over for breakfast in celebration of Popeye's birthday. Lane got to sit at the head of the table with Grampy.
Saturday night my P's had another party for Marlee. This one was for their friends in Bartlesville. It was a pretty big party and I loved that most of the people there either came to the hospital or went to showers for me when I was born.
Lane made himself at home and brought his rocking chair into the middle of the room. Several people brought little gifts for Lane so he had tons of fun playing with his new toys. He especially loved the giant bubble wand he got. It was the first time he was able to blow bubbles all by himself.
Marlee had fun meeting everyone. She let anyone and everyone hold her during the party and slept almost the entire time.
After the party Marlee posed for pics with her Uncle T.
Auntie Sarah.
And Grammy. Grammy was being silly and posed for a side pic since Marlee was looking to the side. I bet she didn't think I would actually post the picture on the blog! Marlee must have had fun because as we put her to bed she gave my Mom a great big smile. We decided it was her fist intentional smile.
Sunday morning we played outside for a bit before we had to pack up to leave. Lane hated to tell Grampy goodbye.Lane talked about Grammy & Grampy, Nina & Popeye, and Auntie & Uncle T the whole way home. We all can't wait to go back for another visit.

Sick Day

This sweet little boy was sick all night last night. We went to the game as usual, he was fine. He enjoyed the 7th inning stretch, someone even gave him a ball that he played with and then all the sudden in the top of the 8th he started crying uncontrollably. He wanted me to hold him, so I did, but he couldn't quit crying. Then, in the top of the 9th he started gagging. I was afraid he would throw up so we got the heck out of the stands. I am sure I will have do deal with it before long, but last night I was not ready for my first "my child just threw up in public" experience. We had taken Clint to work that day so I called him and asked him to come down so we could leave as soon as the game was over. Bless his heart, he came running down to meet us at the gate. We decided to have the EMT's check him before we left the stadium. Of course he perked up so we thought maybe he had just gotten too hot. On the way home my sweet boy puked all over himself and his carseat over and over again. I was so thankful that Clint was there to drive while I tried to soothe Lane. We got home cleaned Lane and his carseat up while Miss Marlee patiently, or not so patiently waited to be fed. Dad fed her while she did her little old lady impersonation.
She kept pulling her cheeks, which pulled her eyes. You can see her still pulling her right cheek in this pic. She's just like her brother already, anything for a laugh.
So, after a long night, Lane, Marlee and I have had a mellow day. Lane caught up on some reading.
Watched some tv while munching on saltine crackers and sipping pedialite.
And, played around on his computer.
All while Marlee slept. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm bored! I've cleaned and washed everything I can think of. I hope my dude feels better tomorrow!
