BB's Room!

I think we just about have Miss BB's room ready for her when she makes her appearance into our world. I have really enjoyed working on her nursery! Poor little Lane was born when we were living in our temporary one bedroom apartment before we found our house. I decorated an alcove and made room in the corner of our closet for him, so being able to decorate a whole room has been so fun!
The room was already a bright happy yellow so when I found this fabric I knew it was the one! I think it is so girly and fun. My Mom and I made the curtains back in March and from there, waited for inspiration to strike.
When my Sister was here the first of May she and I painted the tree on the wall. It covers the whole wall and I think it makes the room so bright and cheery. I recovered the glider and ottoman myself and made the bedskirt so I could have exactly what I wanted. Lane and I have been breaking the glider in, we love to go in there and rock away.
My Mom and I made the birds to make a mobile, but then my sister and I decided to try putting a twig on the wall with the birds perched on the twig. The birds were made with old quilting fabric that my Grandmother's cousin used. I have trouble getting rid of things that I know were treasures. My family says it's just an excuse, that I'm a pack rat, but for once keeping that fabric paid off!
And this is where BB will sleep her first few months. My Mom made the skirt and bumper to go with BB's room (yes, I need to iron it, but I couldn't wait to take the pictures). My Grandmother slept in this bassinet when she was a baby, and it's now been passed down three generations. It was Lanes first bed and now I'm looking forward to getting my baby girl in her very own room, in her very special bed.
